Documented Casualties of an Ill-Conceived "War"
Rating (5)
Date: 1998-03-28
For those of us who believe the "War on Drugs" is the worst-conceived government mistake since the Viet Nam War (with parallels aplenty), here is the book that provides documentation for our arguments. Staley meticulously documents the "collateral damage" from this "war" to our cities: increased violence and murder, increased disregard for basic civil liberties, and increases in drug-related crime, among others. He also documents the ineffectiveness of the "War on Drugs." He cites polls, convincing statistics and specific historical references to make his points. Staley challenges the paradigms of the anti-drug hysteria currently in vogue; his book is a voice of reason crying in the wilderness. - Richard Warren Field, author of THE ELECTION, also available at amazon.com
